More Than Wires. We Light Up the World.
At Doc Watts Electric, powering homes and businesses is what we do. But giving back to the people and communities around us is who we are.
Our Commitment to Community
We believe business done right extends beyond the job site. For our team, the work does not stop when the tools get packed up. It continues in the neighborhoods we serve, the families we support, and the lives we get to touch both here in Orlando and across the globe.
That conviction shapes how we hire, operate, and invest our time. We do not just write a check and call it giving back. We show up, roll up our sleeves, and do the work alongside the people who need it most.
Quarterly Serve Days: Showing Up Where It Matters
Four times a year, our team pauses operations to participate in Serve Day through our local church. These days are built around one simple question: who in our community needs a hand right now?
The answer looks different every quarter. Sometimes it is repairing the electrical panel in a single mother’s home. Sometimes it is helping a small school stay safe and code-compliant. Sometimes it is just showing up for a neighbor who has been asking for help but did not know where to turn.
Our crews bring their full skill set to these moments, not because it is required, but because they believe it matters. Here is what that looks like in practice:
- Hands-on electrical repairs and safety checks for local homeowners
- Support for schools, churches, and small nonprofits in the Orlando area
- Resource distribution and community outreach alongside partner organizations
- Volunteering time and labor to projects that fall outside normal budgets
Every Serve Day is different. Every one of them is meaningful.
Mission Trips: Taking the Light Further
Some needs reach beyond our zip code, and so do we. Our team participates in mission trips that take them into communities around the world, places where access to basic infrastructure and steady support can change the entire trajectory of a family’s life.
These trips are not a vacation. They are in active service in the truest sense. Our people give their time, their energy, and often their own resources to be present in communities that need more than just good intentions.
We have seen what happens when a team of skilled, committed people shows up ready to work. Lights come on. Hope follows. The impact ripples outward in ways that are hard to measure but impossible to miss.
For our team, these experiences are transformative. They come back with a deeper sense of purpose and a clearer understanding of why the work we do every day actually matters.
Light Up the World: Our Guiding Vision
The idea behind “Light Up the World” is straightforward. Electricity does more than power appliances. It powers safety, opportunity, learning, and connection. When we bring our expertise to a family in need, a struggling nonprofit, or a global community without reliable infrastructure, we are doing more than running wire.
We are giving people access to something they deserve.
That belief sits at the center of everything Doc Watts does, from the way we train our technicians to the causes we choose to support. It is not a tagline. It is a responsibility we take seriously.
Serving People, Not Just Customers
As Doc Watts Electric continues to grow, our commitment to the community stays the same. We will keep showing up for local events, investing in meaningful partnerships, and finding new ways to make a real impact, both here in Orlando and around the world.
We are proud of where we came from and grateful for the community that has supported us along the way. If you see our team at a Serve Day or a local event, stop by and say hello. We are always glad to connect with our neighbors and be part of something bigger than the work itself.
Doc Watts Electric. Proud to serve. Proud to give back.
